On the channel we make education videos on exactly the topics you find on the orecast map: fossils and how to spot them, ores and minerals, dinosaurs and the eras they lived in, and everything else that sits below the surface. Clearly explained, with real sites and real data.
Video does one thing a map cannot: it shows time. On the map, Solnhofen is a dot with a few thousand fossil records around it. In a video you can tell people that a shallow lagoon sat there some 150 million years ago, and that animals settling on its floor were buried so finely that wing membranes and feathers are still visible today. Same evidence, two ways of showing it, and only together do they add up to a picture.
The range goes wider than the word minerals suggests. One episode follows the Amber Room, the Prussian gift that vanished from Königsberg in 1945, and lets an AI weigh the documented sources. Another shows the pterosaurs that flew over what is now Bavaria, back when a shallow sea covered it. A third deals with the Wismut uranium operation in the Ore Mountains, which East Germany kept off its own maps for decades. And one explains why no map can tell you where gold actually lies, ours included.
Werner guides you through the episodes, a wolf with a gold panning past and a dry line in reserve. The reasoning is simple. Geology turns into a textbook fast, and a narrator who has stood in cold rivers for nothing takes the stiffness out of the subject without watering down the facts.
